Jacaré mirim means "little crocodile" in Guarani and, through it, in Brazilian Portuguese. Curious, big eyes, long nose. Not cute. Floats around much of the day. It is not really mean and anyway too small to be dangerous, but it can bite.

Insight Crime has a FANTASTIC map detailing where the countries of the hemisphere stand on drug legalization on the eve of a Summit where it should, but likely will not be discussed.
